We stand for innovation through tradition and pride ourselves on working with you to design something truly unique that ultimately becomes a second skin – both embracing your personality and enhancing your confidence.

Most importantly, our goal with each groom’s suit is to create something that will stand the test of time and rise to the occasion for one of the most pivotal moments in your life.

The Process

Begin the process by booking an appointment at our Chiltern street store in London for an initial consultation where we discuss style, fit and fabric. Before we start the design process for your men’s bespoke or made to measure suit, it can be helpful (but not essential) to collate some research imagery that resonates with you.

For a Casely-Hayford men’s custom wedding suit we offer three levels of construction at varying price points – made to measure, semi bespoke and bespoke wedding suits.

There are also three styles of suit most commonly associated with wedding attire that provide some guidelines to work within – the lounge suit, the tuxedo and morning tails. During our one-hour appointment we have on offer a wide selection of 3000 cloths to choose from, sourced from the finest UK, Italian and Japanese mills. As details are firmed up we begin the make process.

The Lounge Suit

The two or three-piece lounge suit is elegant in its simplicity and a great daytime wedding option perfectly combining style with tradition. It comprises a single or double-breasted jacket, trousers as well as option for a waistcoat. Single-breasted jackets typically have one or two buttons for fastening. A double-breasted jacket, on the other hand, can have four or six buttons. We also offer one or two button double-breasted jackets for our more directional grooms.

Our house signature three-piece suit is defined by the double-breasted shawl ‘Tyler’ waistcoat whilst our signature double-breasted shawl lapel ‘Hendrix’ suit is a great way to set you apart from the crowd and a firm favourite on the red carpet amongst international musicians and actors. Our Casely-Hayford men’s wedding suit service of course offers so many more options than this and we will work closely with you to define your best stylistic fit.

Understanding the setting of your big day helps us to steer the direction of fabrics. Clean or textured blues are incredibly versatile, whilst Casely-Hayford green as well as sand hues can work well for abroad weddings. Checks and tweeds are ideal when having a country style wedding.

The Tuxedo

Possibly the most debonair of the three options and ideal for evening weddings or equally setting yourself apart at a day time wedding, the tuxedo also known as the dinner suit is generally worn with a bow tie and cut from rich luxurious fabrics as velvets, crisp wools and even jacquards (patterned fabric).

It sits somewhere between the grandeur of the traditional morning suit and the comparatively more streamlined lounge suit.

Most tuxedos either have a peaked or shawl lapel and whilst the jacket can be cut in anything from a classic black wool barathea through to statement making colour, the trousers are generally midnight blue or black i.e. after-dark colours to complement the natural ambience of the evening.

Morning Dress

Morning tails are the most traditional British attire for men’s wedding suits. It is an elegant formal option classically preferred for daytime weddings. It comprises a jacket which is referred to as the ‘morning coat’, a contrasting waistcoat and trousers.

Whilst stylistically the options for morning dress are more limited than a tuxedo or lounge suits, many grooms opt for a pop of colour through their choice of cloth for their waistcoat.

At Casely-Hayford, alongside the traditional black morning tails with grey striped trousers, we also specialise in what is known as the ‘morning gray’ where the morning coat, waistcoat and trousers are all cut from the same grey cloth. For more directional grooms we also offer this look in a deep navy.

Timings

With so many styles, fabrics, and other details to contemplate, it is best to consider booking in a consultation at least 4 months in advance.

The made to measure men’s wedding suit process generally takes 7 to 8 weeks and the semi-bespoke and bespoke men’s wedding suit process take around 8 – 10 weeks to be tailored to your specifications. However, allowing 3 – 4 months before the big day provides you with time for groomsmen coordination, room to manoeuvre any appointments that you may need to reschedule , and time to focus on other aspects of the wedding.

If you are short on time please do email or give us a call and we will always be as accommodating as possible. For more details or to book an appointment please contact us at our London Chiltern Street store.

Groomsmen and Father of the Groom

If you are looking for custom groomsmen suits, we offer a specialist service for wedding parties so that you can all share the bespoke experience. Our primary focus is guiding you towards stylistic decisions that are cohesive with the groom’s wedding suit and that that complement one another on the big day.

We approach the father of the groom’s outfit with similar care but trying to differentiate the suit through stylistic details or complimentary cloth.
